This pattern
is also called Question Tags, and
used to confirm a statement or sentence. If a positive sentence, so it use
negative question tags (1,2) and if it’s negative sentence (5) or has negative meaning (3,4), so it use positive question tags. Auxiliary + not is
written in the abbreviated form (didn’t,
won’t, etc).

CONVERSATIONS:
A : That new student is very nice and cute, isn’t she?
B : Yes, she is. And you are interested with her, aren’t you?
A : You didn’t come to school yesterday, did you?
B : Yes, I did. I just came late.
A : I am your good friend, amn’t I?
B : I hope so.
A : There isn’t test tomorrow, is
there?

smoking for it is a bad habit.
Jonathan : It can thteaten our life, can’t
