A FEW / FEW / A LITTLE / LITTLE
1.               Baik a few atau a little menunjukan suatu ide positif. A few artinya a small number, sedangkan a little artinya a small amount. A few digunakan di depan bentuk jamak (plural form) benda yang bisa dihitung (countable noun), sedangkan a little digunakan di depan benda yang tidak bisa dihitung (uncountable noun).

A few + plural countable noun
A little money
A few books
A little sugar
A few students
A little coffee
A few employees
A little cheese
A few houses
A little water
A few cars

Ø  You don’t need to hurry because we still have a little time.
Ø  Only a few students could pass because the exam was very difficult.
Ø  I can’t lend you any because I have got a little money.
Ø  He gets rather lonely because he just has a few friends in this city.
Ø  If you want some more wine, there is still a little in this bottle.
Ø  I  didn’t have any money left, but my sister still had a little left.

2.           Baik few atau  little  menunjukan suatu ide yang bersifat negatif. Little berarti not much atau almost no dalam arti lebih sedikit jika dibandingkan a little. “few” berarti not many atau lebih sedikit lagi jika dibandingkan dengan a few.
Ø  You must really hurry because there is little time left.
Ø  There were a few students that class and only few students could pass the test.
Ø  I didn’t buy anything because I just had little money.
Ø  We could not finish the work because only few participants came.
Ø  I have got very little money. I’m afraid I can’t lend you any today.
Ø  This is really an extremely poor country. It has very natural resources.

3.           Few atau little adalah dua bentuk yang lebih resmi (formal). Dalam percakapan sehari-hari, sebagai gantinya lebih lazim digunakan not much, not many, only a little, only a few, atau hardly any.
Ø   We must hurry. There isn’t much time left.
Ø  Hardly any students pass because the test was very difficult.
Ø  I didn’t buy anything  because I had got only a little money.

4.               Dalam percakapan sehari-hari, very little and very few lebih lazim digunakan.
Ø  Very few people saw the football match yesterday afternoon.
Ø  I lent him some money because he just had very little.
Ø  Very few students could do the test well.
Ø  I didn’t take a bath because there was very little water in the bathroom.
