suatu ide positif. A few artinya a small number, sedangkan a little artinya a small amount. A few
digunakan di depan bentuk jamak (plural
form) benda yang bisa dihitung (countable
noun), sedangkan a little
digunakan di depan benda yang tidak bisa dihitung (uncountable noun).

dalam arti lebih sedikit jika dibandingkan a little. “few” berarti not many
atau lebih sedikit lagi jika dibandingkan dengan a few.

Ø There
were a few students that class and only few students could pass the test.
Ø I
didn’t buy anything because I just had little money.
Ø We

Ø I

Few
atau little adalah dua bentuk yang
lebih resmi (formal). Dalam percakapan sehari-hari, sebagai gantinya lebih
lazim digunakan not much, not many, only
a little, only a few, atau hardly
any.
Ø We must hurry. There isn’t much time left.
Ø Hardly
any students pass because the test was very difficult.
Ø I
didn’t buy anything because I had got
only a little money.
4.
Dalam percakapan sehari-hari, very little and very few lebih lazim digunakan.
Ø Very
few people saw the football match yesterday afternoon.
Ø I
lent him some money because he just had very little.
Ø Very
few students could do the test well.
Ø I
didn’t take a bath because there was very little water in the bathroom.
