This pattern is also called Present Perfect Tense (Verbal), and used to express a past events  or  actions in the past were carried out more than once ( 2, 3), or activities that have been done (1, 4, 5). 

SHORT CONVERSATIONS:
A         : Have you taken a bath, Tom?
B          : Not yet, Mom. But I have already had breakfast.
A         : I have posted the letter.
B          : Are you sure? I haven’t received it.
A         : Time is running out. Have you finished?
B          : Not yet, Sir.
A         : How many times have you come to Rani’s house?
B          : I can’t count it.
A         : Have you sent your application form?
B          : Not yet. But I have written it.

TALKING WITH A TOURIST
Leni         : It’s hot today, isn’t it?
Tourist    : Yes, it is. I enjoy staying in Indonesia very much. Especially in dry season.
Leni         : Is this your first visit to Indonesia, Sir?
Tourist    : No, I have visited Indonesia three time.
Leni         : How long have you been in Indonesia?
Tourist    : I have been here for two weeks.
Leni         : Have you gone to Bali?
Tourist    : Yes, I have already visited Bali twice.
Leni         : what places of interest have you visited beside Bali?
Tourist    : I’ve visited Toba Lake, Dieng Plateau, and Borobudur Temple.
Leni         : I hope someday I can travel around the world like you.
Tourist    : Have you ever gone abroad?
Leni         : Not yet, Sir.
Tourist    : By the way, I am very hungry. Would you like to have lunch with me?
Leni         : Sorry, Sir. I have already had lunch.
Tourist    : Sorry, I have to go to a restaurant. I hope we could get together some time.
Leni         : It was nice to see you. Until the next time. Good bye.
Tourist    : So long.
